To mark Lag B’Omer, AMIT students across the country held a special study session and dialogue on the subject of the public’s responsibility to retrieve missing soldiers Hadar Goldin, z”l, and Oron Shaul, z”l, for proper burial in Israel.
Four teachers and four students from AMIT schools across the country were recently awarded certificates of excellence at an event marking 70 years of education in Israel.
Dr. Bracha Halaf, chief scientist at Israel’s Ministry of National Infrastructure, Energy and Water Resources, met with some 9th-graders from the school in Kedumim. She described her personal journey through the ranks of the scientific world, from high school through her current research.
Miriam Peretz, whose two sons Uriel and Eliraz died in combat 12 years apart while serving in the Israeli army, recently won the Israel Prize for lifetime achievement for “strengthening the Jewish-Israeli spirit.”
The senior management of the AMIT network and officials from the Education Ministry visited AMIT Fred Kahane Technological High School in Ashkelon to learn about the innovative changes taking place at the vocational school.
Asif Solomon, an 8th-grader at AMIT Ginsburg Bar Ilan Gush Dan Junior and Senior High School for Boys, won first place at the national chess championship for youth under the age of 14.

The discourse surrounding the character of the school of the future is usually lacking because it has to do with improving the existing model. It takes as a given basic assumptions of the past, which don’t allow us to examine in depth what kind of school we would like to have in the future.
In preparation for Yom Hazikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day for fallen soldiers and the victims of terrorist attacks, AMIT students across the country are visiting cemeteries to recite the kaddish prayer and help clean soldiers’ graves.
AMIT Hammer Junior and Senior High School for Boys won the Education Ministry’s national prize for educational excellence, beating out dozens of other schools across Israel being considered for the prestigious award.
