As part of their celebration of Israel’s 70th Independence Day, students at Yeshivat AMIT Amichai designed a special escape room in the form of the Prime Minister’s Office.
Rabbi Meir Maimon conceived the idea, which enables the students and visitors to the school to learn about Israel’s history. Participants in the escape room must solve the mystery of the disappearance of an important draft of the Declaration of Independence. Different riddles and questions that focus on different periods in the history of the state guide them through the space.
The students planned and worded all of the questions, prepared the tasks, and physically built the escape room.
“It was really exciting to work as a team,” said Ido, one of the students. “Everyone suggested ideas, collaborated, and did his part, and we learned so much along the way.”
Rabbi Maimon said, “I was amazed to discover abilities and strengths in my students that I didn’t know existed. They came out precisely because we used an unconventional learning method.”
