The senior management of the AMIT network and officials from the Education Ministry visited AMIT Fred Kahane Technological High School in Ashkelon to learn about the innovative changes taking place at the vocational school.
The religious technological school underwent transformative changes that are a reflection of the AMIT Gogya philosophy: the classrooms were renovated to become open spaces with transparent walls, the teachers began introducing new learning methods that are more student-led, and the teachers serve as mentors and guides rather than talking for the entire class.
The students and teachers are exposed to anyone who passes by their classroom, and those passersby are inspired by what they see.
Yitzhak Abergil, head of the school, said that the principal’s room would also become a transparent space next year, a change that will give teachers and students a sense of trust, openness, and transparency vis-à-vis the management.
At the end of the visit, Amnon Eldar, AMIT’s director-general, said that watching this process of change unfold is fascinating. “We all believe that it is part of the educational revolution taking place in the State of Israel.”
