In preparation for Yom Hazikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day for fallen soldiers and the victims of terrorist attacks, AMIT students across the country are visiting cemeteries to recite the kaddish prayer and help clean soldiers’ graves.

In response to a request from bereaved families, hundreds of AMIT students are visiting military cemeteries to help them have a minyan (quorum) for reciting kaddish and psalms for their loved ones. The students are also cleaning the tombstones of fallen IDF soldiers buried in some of the older cemetery plots.

This initiative was launched by students at AMIT Bienenfeld Hevruta Yeshiva, but has since spread to numerous schools throughout the network. This year, AMIT students will be visiting cemeteries in Tel Aviv, Beersheva, Ashdod, Or Akiva, and elsewhere, where they will bring flowers and help comfort the families who lost their loved ones.
