AMIT Israel Spotlight Session #2: AMIT’s Community of Co-Ed and Secular Schools – Bridging Divides, Building Community

AMIT students from all across Israel came out in a show of solidarity and support for the Jewish community in Pittsburgh following the devastating attack that killed 11 people at the Tree of Life synagogue in that city on Saturday.

Eighteen young women earned their diplomas in legal administration at a festive ceremony this week at AMIT Fred Kahane Technological High School in Ashkelon, one of the network’s vocational schools, which give students an opportunity to get an education and gain lifelong skills.

The pedagogical R&D team from Ulpanat AMIT Or Akiva won an educational innovation hackathon run by the Education Ministry last week.

Jaclyn Wildes is studying at Midreshet AMIT in Gilo, Jerusalem. She grew up in Englewood, attended Moriah for elementary school, and Ramaz for high school. She’s attended Camp Seneca, Camp Szarvas and Camp Sulam in the summers.

A new pre-army junior college opened its doors last week at the AMIT Elaine Silver Technological High School in Beersheva, and it will play a critical role in helping the Israeli Army maintain its advanced computer systems. As the first co-ed training college of its kind, it will also play a critical role in helping young women train to become computer technicians and engineers.

Following in the footsteps of AMIT alumna Nili Block , 8th-grade AMIT student Michael Yohananov just won a European Thai boxing competition in Romania, taking the top spot in his age and weight category.
