In preparation for summer vacation, the ninth graders at AMIT Bellows Ulpanat Noga, Beit Shemesh organized a local summer festival, in which all the proceeds were donated to the organization Et Laasot to benefit children with special needs. During the last few weeks of the school year, the students devoted time and effort to raising money and organizing a successful event. With the help of their teachers, the students planned many different types of activity booths for the festival.
The festival was attended by dozens of visitors, adults and children, including many children with special needs. In addition to the activity booths, those who attended the festival also enjoyed a police dog show in which the police demonstrated how they are able to locate explosives using horses and police dogs.
Principal Iris Eliyahu said: “We feel that community involvement is a great value and that doing chesed is a way of life. We commend the students for their amazing efforts to benefit children with special needs.”
