As part of the cooperation between AMIT, Microsoft Israel, and U-BTech Solutions, dozens of AMIT students and teachers from all over the country participated in a special day of developing and characterizing digital solutions to the needs and challenges of school life.

The Entrepreneur’s Marathon was initiated by Shai Nissan, Network and Technology Coordinator at AMIT North, a team of network coordinators, and pedagogic technology from the R & D team.

The teachers and students worked on identifying a need and developing a solution. Some initiatives included organizing hours and a test panel in an application to encourage reduced cell phone use, as well as pedagogic solutions to address the learning differences between students so that each and every student can progress at the appropriate pace.

The winners who impressed the judges and received the awards were, among others, the AMIT Bar Ilan Netanya group with the “Ahal Derech” initiative. They produced an application that connects the students of the intermediate classes with those who need private lessons, in order to support parents and strengthen the creation of the educational community. And the Amit Acco and Hatzor group, had an integrated initiative to manage a school-wide diary, which includes social and educational activities, blocks duplication and overloads, and updates all students and teachers in the community.

Ronen Gabai, Co-Founder and VP of Biotech Technologies said, “The idea of a day like this is to connect the technology with pedagogy and to give students a creative experience that enables the real world of industry to connect with the school place. It’s the ability to dream and create a vision and bring it to life in the technological world.”

Eilat Deutsch, VP of the AMIT network added, “AMIT chose Microsoft and UBITEC as a strategic partnership for the implementation of an advanced environment that will enable us to leverage the process of pedagogic renewal and the transition from institutes of education to thriving learning communities. It will also form part of the partnerships with various organizations and companies in the school environment with the goal of connecting students to the real world and empowering them with relevant experience in different fields.”
