The seniors at AMIT Bar Ilan Netanya High School decided to mark their return to school after the holidays with a good deed and organized a blood drive at school. The project was led by Ohad Abutbul, a student who has been a Magen David Adom volunteer for three years. Ohad initiated the blood drive when he heard that there was a lack of blood units in Israel’s blood bank after the holidays. Ohad and his friends got word out to fellow students and teachers, made plans for the bloodmobile to come to school, and even helped paramedics with the blood donations. Dozens of students and teachers rolled up their sleeves, literally, and donated blood.

“Working with MDA, I know that a blood donation can save a life. When I heard about the lack of blood units, I knew I had to recruit my friends and teachers at school. I am happy many people decided to donate,” said Ohad.
