Young entrepreneurs from AMIT Wasserman Torah, Arts and Sciences Jr. and Sr. High School for Girls recently took part in a course on product development and marketing and presented their ideas for startups at an event in Tel Aviv— the capital of startup nation.
The girls presented four ideas to businesspeople and venture capitalists, impressing the industry veterans with their startup initiatives.
Among their ideas are a high-tech sanitation initiative for cleaning toilets, a social network app for lone soldiers, a cloud storage system for medical files, and a platform for mediation between parties in conflict.
The AMIT students from Modi’in clinched the highest scores at the event, earning a spot at the national competition for young entrepreneurs. The winners of that round will represent Israel at an international competition in New York.
The course is run by the organization Machshava Tova, which aims to narrow societal gaps in Israel through technology. It establishes computer centers in underserved communities, allowing residents to acquire basic computer proficiency.
