At an awards ceremony held last week, AMIT Ulpanit (religious high school for girls) Or Akiva received the Ministry of Education’s prestigious religious education award. The award was presented to Bilha Busi, principal of AMIT Ulpanit, by Dr. Avraham Lipschitz, Director of Religious Education. The AMIT Ulpanit teachers and administration were recognized for their impressive efforts and perseverance, creativity and strong sense of mission, which serve as an example and inspiration for other educational institutions.

In addition to promoting excellence, the school encourages contribution to the community and social action, and the AMIT Ulpanit graduates continue on to meaningful service in the army or national service. Unique courses are offered at AMIT Ulpanit, such as robotics, entrepreneurship, an optional Torah studies program, as well as elective courses for Jr. High students. In addition to various majors in the sciences and humanities, the Ulpanit also runs a unique architecture program, which is the only such program offered in the Haifa District.

Bilha Busi thanked the dedicated education staff at the Ulpanit and stressed that “the school strives to enrich the students by educating them with the values of Judaism combined with a love of Israel, while empowering and developing the personality of each student.”
