Students from the AMIT Renanim Science and Technology High School, Ra’anana advanced science track opened this year with a hands-on activity, “think outside of the box”, an interactive learning experience with experiential boxes mirroring an escape room experience.
These boxes challenged the students, preparing them for a year filled with intensive scientific studies. The boxes were designed according to the students’ curriculum. Each box contained a scientific challenge which could only be solved through teamwork and integrating disciplines of thought and creativity with every student in the group.
Dina Schwartz, coordinator of the advanced science track at AMIT Renanim explained that this is part of the innovative pedagogical teaching which equips students with relevant 21st century skills. “Even the most talented student needs to know how to work as part of a team which will grant her further advancement and success. These boxes serve as an excellent trigger for unique, challenging and engaging learning.”
