AMIT student selected for prestigious engineering program
Hila Ben Michael, an 11th-grade student at AMIT Yud Ashdod Jr. and Sr. High School, was recently selected to take part in a prestigious program aimed at training Israel’s budding engineers.
The program, called Engineers of the Future, is run by Israel Aerospace Industries and Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, and seeks to train young women who exhibit potential in engineering at a high level.
Hila was among hundreds of girls across Israel to apply for the program and among the 100 accepted.
This year marks the program’s fourth one running, meaning that to date 300 young women have worked on groundbreaking projects with Israel Aerospace Industries to create positive changes in Israeli society using technology and entrepreneurial skills. The girls work on aerospace, cyber, space, and environmental initiatives.
Hila and her peers will be working with veteran engineers on similarly scientific and technological projects.
