Students at Ulpanat AMIT Dyckman in Beersheva read about the fundraising efforts of students from another AMIT school, AMIT Society and Law track, of AMIT Gwen Straus High School in Kfar Batya, Raanana, on the AMIT Network’s Facebook page and decided to join in and raise funds as well. The AMIT Society and Law students have been fundraising to help Tzuriel Kalfa, a 17 year old boy from the Negev they do not know, who has cancer and needs financial assistance for travel and medical treatment in the US. After reading the Raanana students’ moving post calling on others to join in and help, AMIT Dyckman students organized a doughnut sale, with all proceeds donated to Tzuriel. After Hanukkah, the students intend to continue their fundraising campaigns to help Tzuriel recover.
“We were touched by the initiative of our students,” said Noa HaCohen, principal of AMIT Dyckman. “They organized fundraising for a sick teen they do not know at all. The school will support them in this effort and in all other work for the good causes they choose,” said HaCohen.
