Zehava Defrasha, a student at AMIT Mekif Bet Ashdod, was among the Israeli teens who recently completed a course on cyber protection and information security—and she was recognized as the No. 1 cyber student in the country.

Only six schools took part in the pilot program, which aims to train students as they enter the world of cyber studies and information security. At the end of the 150-hour course, the students received a certificate recognizing them as experts in the implementation of cyber protection.

The innovative cyber program is run by Israel’s National Cyber Directorate, the Education Ministry, the Taasiyeda organization, and the John Bryce training center.

Sima Peretz, the principal of Bet Ashdod, congratulated all 16 students, including Zehava, from her school who participated in the program. “They took on this unique project on top of the pressure of taking the bagrut exams,” she said.
