The city of Givat Shmuel was looking for a new logo that illustrates the 70th anniversary of Israel’s independence, so it held a competition and received dozens of entries. The winning logo design came from Mor Cohen, a 7th-grader at Ulpanat AMIT Givat Shmuel.
Cohen, her mother and school principal recently met with Givat Shmuel Mayor Yossi Brodny, who praised the student’s design talents and thanked her for taking part in the contest. He also gave her a gift, a new book called “70 Faces of Israel.”
The education department at the Givat Shmuel municipality encouraged all of the city’s students to send in submissions for the contest. More than 4,000 people voted, and when they were all tallied, Cohen was the winner.
She said she was surprised because there were many beautiful designs entered. Cohen added that she is so happy that her logo design will appear on all of the city’s marketing materials during Israel’s 70th year.
