The twelfth graders at AMIT Renanim Jr. and Sr. High School for girls in Raanana marked the end of their high school studies and the start of a new stage of life – army and national service – with a special “Leadership Day”. The students went to the Neot Kedumim nature reserve where they participated in leadership workshops and personal and social empowerment activities. Among other things, the students experimented with shepherding a small herd of sheep and goats and worked on group dynamics through climbing on a rope “spiderweb”.

According to Orly Eshkoli, 12th grade coordinator, the goal of the day was to sharpen the values and tools that the students have received over the years. “It was important for us to end their six years at our school with a day of empowerment, to equip the precious girls with tools to help them embark on a new path”.

Chen Maximov, a 12th grader, summed up the experience: “We started the day by understanding the concept of ‘leadership’ and continued with leadership workshops, we had an excellent lunch, and then we gathered for personal summary meetings with our teachers. No one wanted to end the day and board the bus to go back home.”

Ofra Peer, principal of AMIT Renanim commented, “We are proud to see how our students grew up to be young adults full of self-confidence and values. We will continue to escort them on their way with a prayer that they will succeed in the army and sherut leumi and in future years.”
