In the Youth Tae Kwon Do competition held in Yavne this past Friday, July 9th, Yosef Chaim Rabuh, a student at AMIT Nordlicht Religious Technological High School, Jerusalem, won first place in his weight class.
Rabuh won by defeating two rivals, a victory that gave him the title of Israeli Tae Kwon Do Youth Champion in the up to 78 kg weight class. Rabuh, who was recently invited to join the National Tae Kwon Do Youth Team, notes that the goal is to compete at the highest levels in the country and abroad too. “I am very excited and want to thank everyone who pushed me over the years and gave me the strength to win the competition and the title. I intend to continue to work hard.”
Rabuh comes from a family of ten children from Kiryat Arba. Despite the long journey, he comes to study every day at the AMIT Nordlicht Religious Technological High School in Jerusalem. His teachers Yehudit Cohn and Hannah Pael exclaimed, “We were excited and very happy for Yosef Chaim. His win filled us with pride. There is no doubt there is much to learn from his personality. Yosef Chaim is an example of someone who has made significant progress academically and socially, who also has strong organizational skills and leadership qualities. He sets a goal and doesn’t give up despite the difficulties and struggles. We believe that this win will be the beginning of many more wins for this incredibly talented youth.”
Elisha Peleg, principal of the school, said: “Yosef Chaim is a student who fights in the Tae Kwon Do arena and also fights to succeed in school. We are happy with his impressive achievement at the national level, and we are confident that he will continue to succeed and advance in all areas. Our school will continue to produce champions.”
