The AMIT Network administration visited the Yitzkah Rabin Center this week, ahead of Yitzhak Rabin Memorial Day later in November. The Yitzhak Rabin Center is the national institute established by the Knesset in 1997 that advances the legacy of the late Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, whose life was cut short by a devastating assassination. The Center presents Yitzhak Rabin’s remarkable life and tragic death and pivotal elements of the history of Israel.

After the tour, the AMIT delegation met with Dalia Rabin, the daughter of Yitzhak Rabin, z”l. AMIT Network Director General Dr. Amnon Eldar thanked her warmly. “Coming to the museum is very moving. You can see the remarkable history of the State of Israel magnificently displayed alongside Israeli society’s challenges and discord. As a network whose core objectives include dialogue with others in Israel, we feel that this is a significant opportunity to think about how to bring down the barriers and divisions. We at AMIT will do everything to make sure that our students are part of this process.”

Dalia Rabin acknowledged the significance of the visit as well. “We are making a special effort to open our doors to Religious Zionism. We wanted you to come here because it’s important for your students to come here. The time has come for healing the wounds, and we can only so through dialogue and leaving behind stigmas. I hope that together we can do something great,” she said.
