The AMIT network selected its outstanding educators for the year 2019 at a recent ceremony at the Gogya teacher-training center in Ra’anana.
They are the R&D teams at AMIT Hatzor HaGlilit Jr. and Sr. High School and AMIT Kiryat Malachi Jr. and Sr. High School, the English faculty at Yeshivat AMIT Nachshon in Mateh Yehuda, and the science faculty at Yeshivat AMIT Eliraz in Petach Tikva.
These exceptional educators were the recipients of this year’s Lee & Lou Benjamin Awards for Academic Excellence, which are bestowed annually on the network’s most devoted and innovative teachers.
“In their dedication to their schools, their goal of enabling each and every student to fulfill their utmost abilities, and their groundbreaking educational leadership, these faculty members are exemplary leaders for all educators in Israel,” said Dr. Amnon Eldar, director general of the AMIT network, at the ceremony.
Yeshivat AMIT Nachshon won the Education Ministry’s prestigious national education award in April for its innovation and creative teaching methods. The school recently adopted AMIT’s Gogya method, which creates more active, engaged learners through student-led learning in open spaces.
The other three schools that were awarded the Lee & Lou Benjamin prizes cater to AMIT students in the outlying towns of Kiryat Malachi and Hatzor HaGlilit, as well as the diverse student body at Yeshivat AMIT Eliraz.
