AMIT keeps taking space by storm. First Yeshivat AMIT in Tzfat won first place in the national SpaceLab competition. Then two other students from Midreshet AMIT Kamah in Yerucham participated in an experiment that will also be taken up to the Space Station by Eitan Stibbe.

Now, AMIT Yud from Ashdod, have reached the finals in the Space Olympics in memory of Ilan Ramon. 203 schools began the competition and 29 made it to the semifinals. 11 of them have now gone on to the finals. Only 3 from the National Religious schools and only 2 from the Southern Region.

The participants had to plan how to use satellites to help with a big event – environmental, social or military – and they had to use a virtual satellite program.

The AMIT Yud Ashdod students chose to focus on massive fires (like the ones in Australia and California).

Along the way, the students received help from many of the biggest companies like Intel, Rafael, ImageSat, etc.… and professors from Hebrew University and the Tel Aviv University.
