Thirteen students from AMIT Yehuda in Afula became assistants to kashrut supervisors thanks to a special program they participated in and recently completed.

The program included learning about various aspects of kashrut and meeting with rabbis and other experts, chief among them Rabbi Yisrael Meir Eliyahu, who oversees kashrut in Afula.

Rabbi Eliyahu and his colleagues tested the students on their knowledge of kashrut and awarded them special certificates.

During their studies, the boys learned about the laws of kashrut and toured various farms, restaurants and event halls with kashrut supervisors.

Each student also chose one aspect of kashrut to study, researched it thoroughly and then presented his subject before the rabbis and the audience at the ceremony.
