According to the Ministry of Education, the percentage of Bagrut eligibility at AMIT Bet Ashkelon Jr. and Sr. High School continues to climb and has now reached 85%! This is a huge increase from three years ago when the rate was only 50%. In addition, 35 students received certificates of social involvement excellence.
The success was marked with a graduation ceremony in the presence of the Mayor of Ashkelon, Tomer Glam, city council member Amichai Sivoni, and head of education for Ashkelon, Tzuriel Dvir, all of whom were proud to participate in this wonderful celebration of academic achievement.
During the ceremony, the 12th-grade students performed the play Concert for Eight, directed by Uriah Cohen. The play, which is about challenged students who rise to the occasion of learning due to their teacher’s strong encouragement and guidance, mirrors the success seen at AMIT Bet Ashkelon.
Shirel Ben Naim, a student in the 12th grade, said: “For me, graduation was closure for an amazing journey after we had a challenging year with Covid and we didn’t have the usual experience of 12th grade. We have been eagerly awaiting this moment, a moment when 12 years come together in one night, a night in which the school and teachers invested so much effort to make it a wonderful evening!”
Gideon Schindler, principal of AMIT Bet Ashkelon, expressed: “Beyond the large investment of our students, they were blessed with professional and dedicated teachers who work with all their souls. There is a great deal of love and dedication from the whole team. Thank G-d the trust in the school is growing and it shows in enrollment for 7th grade, in the recruitment of new staff, and in pedagogical innovation. We wish our graduates much success and blessings from G-d on their new path, and that they should take with them the ‘food for the journey‘ they received from a staff who are worthy of high praise for their dedication.”
