Ninth grade students at AMIT Dvir in Beit Shemesh earned a certificate of excellence at the national conference for problem-solving research in science and technology, which was held on the Givat Ram campus of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Fifty schools from across the country participated in the conference, after having passed the city-wide level successfully.
AMIT students Ezri Morano, Eitan Goldman, Shachar Schriver, and Nuriah Lerman developed a device that helps to identify leaking from a garden hose and triggers a warning. The students were accompanied by teachers Ornah Saphira, Chofit Kashish, and Stephanie Bismot.
The students impressed contest judges with the enterprise, teamwork, and creative thinking that spanned their research. Erez Brown, the head of school, said: “In their work, the students proved that it’s key to integrate excellence in science and technology with social engagement, giving back to the community, and environmental awareness.”
