The robotics team from AMIT Netivot Dror Yeshiva High School came in first place for creative thinking at the YTEK competition for math, space, and robotics held last week.
Hundreds of students from all around Israel participated in the competition held at the Technion in Haifa. They had to program a smart robot that simulates an autonomous car and get it to drive using sensors and computer programming.
The team from AMIT Netivot Dror in Or Akiva impressed the judges with their teamwork and their robot’s functioning, clinching the “creative thinking” category’s top spot.
“At Yeshivat AMIT Netivot Dror we place great emphasis on investing in the scientists of the future,” said Principal Rabbi Sharon Sha’ar. “We strive for excellence is all areas—education, values, and social contribution.”
