Students from the AMIT Gwen Straus school for boys took part in one of the biggest educational events across the globe recently, joining students in hundreds of other countries for a one-hour computer programming tutorial.
The event, called an Hour of Code, takes place every year during Computer Science Education Week in December, and it unites students in more than 180 countries around the world by giving them all the opportunity to learn computer science. It aims to show students that anyone can learn the basics of coding, which helps children develop problem-solving skills, logic, and creativity.
Yaron Carmi, the head of Gwen Straus’ law and society track, said the school’s objective is to broaden the students’ horizons, especially in computers, science, and research so that each one of them can fulfill his potential in any field he chooses to pursue.
