Students from the AMIT Wasserman Junior and Senior High School came in first place at a regional athletics competition held in Beersheva, and their team is advancing to the national competition.

Teams from the junior high (7th-9th grades) and high school (9th-12th grades) both took the No. 1 spot in their respective contests. Coach Yossi Cohen and Shosh Turgeman, who runs the school’s physical education program, trained the teams.

“I believe that you have to aspire to be the best in sports, in school, and in life,” Turgeman said. “I wish the students continued success in athletics and any other field they pursue.”

The school’s principal, Elisha Peleg, said that the teams won their trophies by exhibiting “determination, athletic spirit, and collective support for one another.”
