The AMIT Tzfat debate club, with members from AMIT Tzfat High School for Girls and the AMIT Evelyn Schreiber Ulpana, recently qualified for the national debate competition. The AMIT club ranked second, after their victories against debate clubs throughout the country. The debate club has been winning competitions and establishing itself as one of the best clubs in the country for the past four years.
Competing clubs and judges complimented the AMIT club on the enhanced level of discourse they demonstrated while competing against strong clubs throughout Israel. In two months’ time, students will compete in the national championships held at Tel Aviv University, with the goal of winning the 2016 championship.
Rabbi Yehuda Peles, head of the AMIT Evelyn Schreiber Ulpana, said that their school culture is based on the values and essential skills learned in debate. “Our girls know how to hold an analytical discussion based on the merits of an issue, to present complex arguments and acknowledge and respect different opinions, ” said Rabbi Peles.
We wish the girls luck in the national championship!
