Making Connections at AMIT Nachshon

A recent field trip at Yeshivat AMIT Nachshon, Mateh Yehuda, was all about making connections with others in Israeli society. The trip began in Tel Aviv with a visit to the BINA Secular Yeshiva, where the AMIT students got acquainted with secular Torah study. From there students headed north to the Arab city Tamra in the Jezreel Valley, where they met with an Arab-Israeli activist to discuss the future of Israeli-Arab coexistence. Hikes in the North were led by a Druze tour guide who shared the customs of his community with students and spoke about the unique bond the Druze have with the State of Israel. At Ginosar, students played a game of wheelchair basketball with two disabled basketball players who taught them about accepting others. On Lake Kinneret, the students engaged in hours of manual labor to make the Ein Nun Spring accessible to the public. This unique field trip concluded with an uplifting Shabbat in Tzfat, where students attended the synagogue of their choice and got to learn about the ultra-Orthodox Hasidic community there.

Rabbi Noam Krigman, principal of AMIT Nachshon Yeshiva: “Accepting others is one of the cornerstones of education at AMIT Nachshon, where we are educating the leaders of the future.”
