Thirty outstanding physics students from the AMIT network recently took part in a prestigious international nanotechnology conference in Jerusalem.

The conference, called NANO.IL.2018, dubs itself “a central meeting point for local and international companies, investors, universities, corporate research scientists and government representatives from around the world and is a unique platform bringing together elite speakers and top individuals from academia, business and government.”

The AMIT students from three schools—Yeshivat AMIT Ashdod, AMIT Wasserman in Beersheva, and AMIT Bellows Ulpanat Noga in Beit Shemesh—were invited to participate in the impressive event. They met with researchers and students pursuing advanced degrees in the sciences, getting an inside look at a world that awaits them.

They also sat in on English-language lectures about different topics: physics, biology, computers, start-ups, and environmental sciences.

“We heard from experts from Israel and abroad about the most advanced research in the field of nanotechnology,” said one student who attended. “As the future generation of high-tech science researcher, the conference gave us a broader view of the progress being made today and where it is headed in the future.”

Iris Eliyahu, principal of AMIT Bellows, said, “Our goal at the school is to provide each student the tools to fulfill her potential in all fields of science and knowledge, while giving them a values-based Torah education. Their participation in the conference contributed greatly toward their success in the field.”
