If you didn’t see our social post last week, we want you to know that our team of 8th grade girls from the Dina and Moses Dyckman Ulpanat AMIT, Beersheva, bested 16 schools from across Israel to take home their first-place win at the Ilan Ramon Space Studies Competition. This is an impressive success over strong competition, and the top three finishers get to send their experiments into space!
At our new vocational school in Tzfat, a new major will be available. It will focus on first responders to emergencies, and search and rescue missions. Principal Nedavya was in the U.S. last spring, where he saw a similar idea in Kansas City at the CAPS Center and thought it could be a good fit for an AMIT school.

Itiel Zohar, graduate of the AMIT Sutker Modiin High School for Boys, won a unique Israel prize added to the standard selection given each year on Yom Ha’atzmaut, for civilian bravery. Itiel was part of the rescue team at Kibbutz Be’eri on October 7. Together with his uncles Menachem Kalmenzon and Elchanan Kalmenzon, they rescued more than 100 residents of Be’eri, and were dubbed by the media as “The Elchanan Team.” Sadly, on that day, Elchanan was killed in these efforts at the final house they entered.
These are just three examples showcasing the amazing work of our students and graduates. The sky is truly the limit.
