The 12th grade students at AMIT Givat Shmuel Ulpanat decided to start the school year with kindness.
They worked with various associations and organizations and set up a variety of chesed booths for a fair in the Ulpana compound. They packed gifts for sick children in collaboration with Yair’s Gift House, delivered Shabbat Shalom letters to the city’s veterans in collaboration with Coffee On The Hill, and decorated Band-Aids and bandages for children in hospitals.
Noa Paz, a 12th grader, shared: “It was a meaningful experience. It was important to us that all the students start the year well.” At the end of the first day of school, the ninth-grade girls teamed up with the eighth graders, and their combined efforts made people like the city’s veterans very happy.
Orit Kaufman, director at the school, said: “After a long summer vacation, I am happy that the students returned to school in March, but at the same time still remember the sick children and the veterans of the city.”
