From Yerucham to Space: Yehonatan Amar, an 11th grade student at AMIT Belevav Shalem Yeshiva High School in Yerucham, was chosen to present the Tevel Project (a Hebrew acronym for Students Building Satellites) at a science convention held at Tel Aviv University in front of Ofir Akunis, the Israel Minister of Science, Technology and Space.

Yehonatan is part of a group of 20 computer track students from his school participating in the Tevel project who attended the event. As part of the Yerucham Science Center and lead by Raz Steinmetz, the students participated in professional research of satellites and built a tiny satellite that will launch into space later this year from India’s launch base.

Minister Akunis was impressed by the students’ research and said they are the future and the next generation of Israel space exploration and research.
