I love Thanksgiving! Partly, it’s seeing people we don’t celebrate with regularly (not this year). Partly, it’s that I don’t have to rush to finish since its a casual start time. Partly, it’s that no one in my family really cares about which college teams win or lose, so no one goes crazy. But mostly, it’s the simple “Thanksgiving” prompt that makes us ask everyone at our table to give thanks for something they especially appreciate.
Chief among the things AMIT and I appreciate, is YOU, our wonderful contributors and supporters.
This year, as COVID made educating our students much more difficult, with your support we:
- Purchased and distributed 4,000 computers to our students
- Created partnerships with 50 industry experts who now serve as mentors to AMIT students
- Visited thousands of student homes during lockdowns to ensure our students and their families were managing
- Enrolled 650 teachers in professional courses
- Evaluated our long-distance learning system with 6,000 students who participated weekly
Of course, as in every other year, you also helped us provide tutoring to our weaker students, win awards and contests (chess, creative writing, physics, volunteerism, entrepreneurship) and provided lunches and tefillin for poor students.
As this year comes to a close, we are “doubly grateful” to the Norman and Bettina Roberts Foundation and an anonymous donor who have committed to doubling all new gifts raised in the next 2 weeks.
Thank you all for what you do every day for AMIT. And I hope that by giving to AMIT you feel blessed as well.
Happy Thanksgiving!
