Thanks to a unique collaboration between the Hebrew University Department of Veterinary Medicine and the Ashdod Municipal Department of Education, 32 seventh-grade students have the opportunity to engage in a hands-on course in veterinary medicine for young people. The course is held once a week at the School of Agriculture in Rehovot, which is part of the Hebrew University.
Almost one-quarter of the 724 students who attend AMIT Yud Ashdod are olim, 155 of them from France. The school’s immigrant population is taught solely by veteran French or French-speaking Canadian immigrants who know the challenges of making aliyah first hand.
