In conjunction with the “Miles of Smiles” Organization, students at AMIT Modi’in hold weekly Skype calls with retired women overseas. The girls engage in conversations that transcend continents and generations. They interact with American women senior citizens on diverse topics, including Judaism and personal issues. The main goal of the project is to improve the English speaking and reading skills of students in an interesting and experiential way. In the context of the project, students also practice the mitzvah of honoring their elders, and it helps them forge ties between American Jews and Israel.
