AMIT Renanim students make the patients in Meir happy

The excited children were very happy, the parents were excited and also the nursing staff joined in with applause and great joy. It was a special and exciting experience, especially after a long period of Corona, where outsiders who were not close relatives could not be admitted to the wards.

On the occasion of Purim, the students of Amit Renanim School in Raanana decided to spread the joy of the holiday to those who need it most. About 20 girls from the 10th grade from the school came to Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba to make children in the pediatric ward happy. After prior coordination with Liora, from the department’s educational center, she took them to visit the pediatric emergency room, children’s day hospital, the pediatric wards and the educational center. The students danced and sang, distributed chocolate and balloons to the children in the ward.

Eden Lavie, a tenth-grade student, shared: “It was really exciting to make the children happy and see their reactions and their smiles. It’s fun to get out of our comfortable routine and make those who really need it happy.”

Efrat Schwartz, the high school principal added: “On Purim everyone becomes a recipient and a giver. We all give and receive. It is the beauty of these days, the social involvement we educate all year round. That is why it was so natural and requested to go out of school and make my children “Meir in Kfar Saba. True joy always comes with giving, and indeed we saw how many girls were happy to rejoice and opened hearts to the true act of kindness out of love and seeing the other. Many thanks to teachers Batya Malach and Rinat Bar Hai for the initiative and its implementation.”
