Justice, compassion and social responsibility are the core values of the yeshiva’s educational philosophy.

The yeshiva is known for its unique style of learning, taking high-level intellectual learning and imbuing it with meaning and passion. The yeshiva is also known for the warm, friendly environment where each student is made to feel comfortable and accepted. Orot Shaul strives to instill potential in terms of learning, leadership and commitment to the state and people of Israel.

The yeshiva is led by Rabbis Yuval Cherlow and Tamir Granot. Rabbi Cherlow’s trademark is the synthesis of Torah study with ethics and social activism. He was one of the founders of Tzohar, a national movement of 1,000 Zionist rabbis and women volunteers who are leading the revolution for an ethical, inclusive and inspiring Jewish Israel. He also serves as a member of several government ethics committees, as well as the Presidential Press Council of Israel. Rabbi Granot’s uniqueness lies in his ability to combine the traditional way of learning with modern academic techniques alongside the extensive study of Hasidut.
