AMIT Israel Spotlight Session #2: AMIT’s Community of Co-Ed and Secular Schools – Bridging Divides, Building Community

AMIT Dvir Junior and Senior High School in Beit Shemesh offers its students innovative programs to help them move smoothly and confidently as they grow into the next stage of their lives. Through these programs – a boot camp training program for upper classmen and a bar mitzvah program for middle schoolers – AMIT Dvir is helping take their students from boys to men.

Eight AMIT educators are among the Education Ministry’s religious education administration list of this year’s “teachers of the century.” All of the teachers and principals selected for this distinction were recognized for their groundbreaking values-based leadership and educational innovation.

AMIT students from the southern and central regions in Israel recently attended leadership conferences at two AMIT schools: AMIT Ramle Technological High School in Ashdod and the AMIT Kfar Blatt Youth Village in Petach Tikvah.

AMIT students in Modi’in recently hosted students from Midreshet AMIT and another local school for a fascinating discussion with retired Major General (retired) Eliezer Shkedy, formerly the commander of Israel’s air force and CEO of El Al airlines.

Eleventh-grade students at AMIT Bellows Ulpanat Noga High School helped organize a seminar on women’s empowerment at their school, which included workshops and lectures about identity, developing personal strengths and leadership skills, self-defense, and taking initiative.

When it comes to AMIT Wasserman Junior and Senior High School in Beer Sheva, which has been recognized for its academic achievements, add athletics championships to the list of accolades. During the last two years, students from the school won nine championships in different sports categories, and a least a dozen more students are recognized as outstanding athletes.
