Solving Real-World Problems

After placing first at the national young entrepreneurship competition, students from the Mr. and Mrs. Lester Sutker AMIT Modi’in School for Boys traveled to the international stage, where they took third place with their invention called “pick-nic”—a tablecloth with games and trivia printed on it that doubles as a trash bag. A team of 18 AMIT students conceived the environmentally friendly tablecloth with the help of two mentors from the Modi’in business community as part of a project called “Young Entrepreneurs Doing Business.” They formed a company called Promoter, whose goal is to create a better future, and presented the tablecloth at several competitions. The team also sold the tablecloths across the country, giving these budding entrepreneurs real-life business experience.
