Update #7 From AMIT

We are so grateful to everyone who has responded generously to our Sderot emergency campaign. To date, we have raised $820,922. This funding is already making a direct impact on the ground in Israel.

Here’s what AMIT has been able to do because of you:

Trauma Intervention Is Live

AMIT has set up therapy meetings between students and professional psychologists to begin their early intervention treatment.

AMIT opened a hotline for teachers and parents, in partnership with the Arbel Institute and managed by professional therapists. The hotline is open from 8AM to 6PM.

Computers Delivered

AMIT distributed 270 computers to AMIT Sderot teachers who could not take their computers with them when they evacuated. This was accomplished despite hundreds of teachers dispersed across Israel.

Reaching Students & Teachers

AMIT mapped out the new location of AMIT’s 4,333 evacuated Sderot students. Each student received a personal phone call from their teacher/mentor and is in direct contact with their homeroom teacher daily.

In the mornings, AMIT TV broadcasts a session specifically for teachers to deal with resilience and trauma processing.

Each teacher received a personal phone call to learn more about their own personal situation and needs.

AMIT TV is producing a dedicated program for Sderot students, enabling popular artists to speak directly to our students.

AMIT is sending shiva packages and helping at the shiva houses of every one of the Sderot alumni, teachers, and the many families who have lost loved ones.

Creating New Housing & Learning Centers

AMIT Kfar Blatt is now hosting 100 evacuees from Sderot. The Kfar is taking care of all their basic needs, including food, clothing, and therapy.

AMIT has opened two temporary learning centers in areas with the highest concentration of Sderot evacuees: Eilat and the Dead Sea region. In both locations, AMIT has appointed a staff-member to lead formal and informal education programming.

The Municipality of Sderot has entrusted AMIT with their children – and we will always be there to support and let them know they are not alone.

This critical work is only possible because of the generosity of the donors on this scroll. 100% of your donations go directly to Israel, so please keep your support coming.
