As I’m sure you have all heard, there was a multipronged car-ramming and stabbing terror attack earlier today in Ra’anana. Unfortunately, five of our students who were on their way home from AMIT Gwen Straus High School were injured during the attack. Four of the students sustained minor injuries and are being treated in the local hospital. Unfortunately, the fifth student, a 9th grader, suffers from severe injuries and just finished emergency brain surgery and is expecting to undergo another surgery later this evening. Please keep him in your prayers – his name is Nadav Ephraim ben Shlomit Leah.
Rabbi Yoni Berlin, the principal of AMIT Gwen Straus High School, and a few of his staff members, rushed to the hospital to be with the students and their families and are currently still with them. Tonight, at 7 pm the school will be conducting a school-wide Zoom meeting for the parent body, along with the school psychologist and senior administration. They will give the parent body an update about the situation, and tools to help parents help their children cope with the situation. Following this meeting, at 7:45 pm there will be a Zoom session for the entire student body, with their homeroom teachers, counselors, and mentors.
We continue to support our staff during these difficult times and appreciate their leadership and perseverance as they navigate this devastating situation.
