5:00 p.m. – Group flight arrival at Ben Gurion Airport. Group flight transfer from Ben Gurion to Jerusalem.
7:30 p.m. – Let’s get the festivities started! Join us as we inaugurate the Yom Yerushalayim Mission with a sumptuous opening dinner at the David Citadel Hotel. Hear a firsthand account from special guest, Yoel Bin-Nun, one of seven paratroopers who fought for the liberation of Jerusalem in 1967, as depicted in the book Like Dreamers by Yossi Klein Halevi.
Monday, May 22nd
Breakfast at hotels, on your own
8:15 a.m. – Depart David Citadel Hotel for AMIT Modiin High School
9:30 a.m. – AMIT is leading Israel’s educational revolution. Discover how, as we visit with the young men of AMIT Modiin High School. We’ll meet with the talented students who won first place in the countrywide El Al Entrepreneurship Competition and be treated to a presentation of their impressive invention. We’ll also get to see the brand new Ulpan, created to help the large Olim population within the school integrate into a regular classroom.
We’ll travel to an IAF Air Force Base where we’ll meet up for a BBQ lunch with the recent graduating class of AMIT Rechovot Junior College who now serve as Air Force Technicians. We’ll learn how our valued graduates come in already trained and fully prepared to serve thanks to the high-level training they received at the Junior College. We’ll hear from senior officers how important this partnership is to the air force, and we’ll be treated to an insiders’ view of Israel’s elite fighting forces – an AMIT surprise awaits us!
3:30 p.m. – We’ll end our afternoon with a visit to Har Herzl for a moving presentation of this most holy place where those who have fallen in battle are laid to rest. We’ll hear some of their stories and pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
6:30 p.m. – The evening opens with an exclusive pre-Yom Yerushalayim dinner at Binyanei Hauma with a senior government official from the Ministry of Education.
We’ll then join with people from around the world for the gala Yom Yerushalayim opening program at Binyanei Hauma sponsored by the World Mizrachi Movement. Celebrate Jerusalem together as we hear from President Reuven Rivlin, Lord Rabbi Jonathan Sacks and other dignitaries and enjoy the live musical entertainment.
Tuesday, May 23rd
Following breakfast at the hotel, choose your Israel experience-
8:00 a.m. – Depart David Citadel Hotel for Track 1
Track 1: Learn how AMIT transformed a development town into one of the most vibrant, up and coming cities in Israel, as we visit Yerucham. We’ll meet with dynamic Vice-Mayor Tal Ohana, a Yerucham native who pursued his vision for the city using AMIT schools as his anchor for community transformation. We’ll visit AMIT’s Midreshet Be’er to see one of three groundbreaking mechinot for women that are changing the face of Israel’s military. From there it’s a quick trip to AMIT Kamah High School and see why students from all over the southern region travel daily to this unique school.
8:30 a.m. – Depart David Citadel Hotel for Track 2
Track 2: Participate in a series of interactive workshops on critical issues facing the Jewish Community, sponsored by World Mizrachi Movement. Concurrent sessions will be held with multiple tracks – lectures, panel discussions and presentations on the spiritual, political, educational, security, and economic challenges, and opportunities, facing Israel in the 21st Century.
Free Time – Enjoy the sights and sounds of Jerusalem before the festivities begin. Lots of great places to experience the rich history of the holy city.
5:00 p.m. – Optional tour of the Begin Center Museum
6:30 p.m. – AMIT Yom Yerushalayim celebration at Terasa at the Begin Museum – After experiencing the euphoria of the anniversary celebrations, join us for a spectacular dinner overlooking the Old City. Feel the vibe of this magical evening as you dine al fresco overlooking the majestic Old City and experience the excitement of the moment with a musical tribute to Jerusalem by Israeli singing legend, Tamar Giladi. We are honored to be addressed by Mr. Uzi Eilam, retired IDF Brigadier General and former Director of the Israel Atomic Energy Commission; the hero who announced the liberation of Jerusalem to the world.
Wednesday, May 24th
Breakfast at hotels, on your own
7:30 a.m. – Join AMIT and Mizrachi World Movement for a meaningful Yom Yerushalayim davening at the Kotel followed by a ceremony honoring the heroic paratroopers seen in the iconic ’67 picture of the Reunification of Jerusalem.
9:30 a.m. – Afterwards, join us for an engaging tour of unique and meaningful sights within the Old City. The choice is yours, choose from these tracks covering all eras of Jerusalem’s history in and around the Old City.
Track 1: In the Footsteps of the ’67 Paratroopers – On the historic date of June 7 1967, IDF paratroopers did what seemed impossible, liberating Jerusalem and returning the Kotel into Jewish hands. On this tour, you will walk in the footsteps of these brave men, standing where they stood, witnessing where they fell, hearing their personal stories, and finally walking through the Old City gates in triumph.
Track 2: The “Fifth Quarter” – Visit a unique gallery in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City. Meet the amazing artisans in their workshops and hear their inspiring stories.
Lunch on your own
4:00 p.m. – Stand Up and Be Counted! – AMIT will be leading the way as we march in the spectacular Yom Yerushalayim Flag Parade with thousands of students, youth groups, and organizations representing all of Israel from new Jerusalem to the Old City.
6:30 p.m. – Then join together for dinner at the remarkable Aish HaTorah World Headquarters overlooking the Kotel plaza.
Explore Jerusalem and enjoy the city-wide celebrations for Yom Yerushalayim during your free evening.
Thursday, May 25th

One last hurrah!
Track 1: An American Yankee in King David’s Court – On this walking tour you will learn about the famous Americans who visited Jerusalem in the 19th and early 20th centuries and their contributions toward achieving an independent Jewish state. Also, learn about the connection between Jerusalem and the battle of Bunker Hill.
Track 2: The Hebrew Music Museum – Tour this new museum in the heart of Jerusalem and learn all about the musical heritage of the Jewish people and how it has been preserved.
12:30 p.m. – Group flight transfer to Ben Gurion Airport
4:00 p.m. – Group flight: El Al #11 departing Ben Gurion Airport
8:40 p.m. – Group flight arrival at JFK Airport
