The GOGYA learning center is AMIT’s state-of-the art hub for educational innovation, professional development and collaboration – it’s where teachers to learn how to teach in a startlingly new way. Much of the teachers’ training takes place at the learning center on AMIT’s Kfar Batya campus in Ra’anana. Refurbished from the inside out, the GOGYA building has the look and energy of a high-tech start-up. Ultra-modern, with glass-walled classrooms, an abundance of natural sunlight, creative workrooms and modular furniture, the building is the embodiment of GOGYA’s philosophy and spirit.
Training for teachers is done by key pedagogical experts, together with AMIT Network mentors for cultural change. GOGYA is a place to study and collaborate and to develop new methodology and pedagogical ideas. AMIT’s pedagogical and R&D teams began searching for a new teaching/learning model several years ago, and GOGYA, whose name comes from the word “pedagogy,” is the result.
To build a new way of teaching has required that AMIT teachers become the students. With teacher training, mentoring and exposure to cutting-edge approaches in education, the professionals are given the ability to effect change in their schools.
