AMIT, which educates some 2,000 children and young people of Sderot in nine schools and programs, is coordinating S³ (s-cubed) Students in Solidarity with Sderot. We expect hundreds of schools to work together to help the children of Sderot and their families, who want nothing more than to live with the same peace and freedom that we and our families enjoy.
Sderot is a city in dire need of support from the worldwide Jewish community. Its citizens live under imminent threat of rocket attacks from the neighboring Gaza Strip. The children cannot play outside, ride their bikes, or jump rope, without fear of a rocket bombardment. Every school is equipped with a bomb shelter; every playground has a concrete barrier under which the children can run in case of an attack.

Funds are urgently needed to help our schools with the following requests.
- Closed Circuit Cameras: These cameras make it possible to see what is happening in all areas of the school at all times. They are vital during red alerts to locate all the students and to assess the situation after a Kassam Rocket attack.
- R & R Zones: These special areas are set aside as an oasis for the students, to allow them to temporarily escape stress and to give them a space to gather and release tension.
Your class/school can select any activity (eg: a walk-a-thon, book fair, dance-a-thon, car wash, bazaar/flea market) and the monies raised will go towards fulfilling the immediate needs of our children in Sderot.
When you join S³, your school’s name will be featured in a series of ads that will run at the close of the campaign. The school’s name will be added to our website and the campaign will be featured in AMIT Magazine, which is distributed to 46,000 households. Also, we will be establishing a special plaque board in Sderot where your school’s name will be displayed.
We know your school will want to take part in S³ during the 2010/2011 academic year. Be in the forefront of this vital effort; please fill out the registration form to join us. We sincerely look forward to your participation.
